The old town of Labin
On a hill five kilometres above Rabac lies Labin, an old mining town with a picturesque old core. Once a mining centre, today it is a town of artists and galleries, with narrow lanes, stone houses and a National Museum that keeps its mining past. On the main square stands the town loggia from the mid-16th century — once the place of the market, public proclamations and trials — and beneath it a lapidarium with Roman and medieval inscriptions.
Viewpoints and nature
From Labin, from the bell tower and from the Fortica viewpoint, a view opens over Rabac, the Kvarner bay and Mount Učka. The surrounding paths through pine woods and along the sea are good for walking and cycling.
